Create a scene Thursday!

The current challenge over at Mad for Markers Challenge Blog is create a scene.  I have never done a card like this so it was a challenge.  I had a few stamps in mind and went searching for digi stamps to make a background. I found this urban fencing at Make it Crafty and thought it would fit perfectly  with Thursday the stamp I won at the Mad for Markers blog hop a while back (Thank you Sammi).  So  I stamped my image masked it printed it out and realised it didn't look right it needed more to the background.  I really wanted an old abandoned building I couldn't find one to suit so I got a clip art recoloured it and used the sketch function in photoshop elements then put my digital stamps over that and printed it out....and it looked alright. I coloured the stamped images with copics.  When I was happy with that I added derwent pencils to the graffiti on the building and some 2B shavings to darken up the door.  I think it turned out alright for my first attempt at creating a scene and mixing clip art, digi and rubber stamps.  What do you think?
So I used:
Rubber stamp - Thursday The Greeting Farm and
Copics on xpress it blending card all available from Mad for Markers shop.
Hair E53, E50, Y11
Skin and Eyes E11, E00, B32.
Clothes, Belt and Shoes C9, C7, C5, C3, C2, C1, R29, R27, R24, B37, B34, B32.
Urban Fencing E35, E27 and 0, C2 and C1.
Digi Stamp - Urban Fencing from Make it Crafty
Digital Paper from Breathe Me - Mega Fanpire Kit by Amy Stoffel.

Simply Sassy City Girl

I have been practicing colouring folds in clothes and I still need a lot more practice but I am getting better.  I found this fold/pleats tutorial which was recommended at Mad for Markers blog really useful.  I have decided to enter this card into the Sugar Bowl challenge 65 sketch with the option of blue.  There is a small amount of blue flowers and blue card.  I also figured I could enter it in Simply Sassy's header challenge.

And here is a closer up of my colouring....I know I still have a lot to learn and practice.

For this card I used
Stamp- City Girl from Funky Kits coloured with copics on xpress it blending card all available at M4M.
Copics - E50, E53, Y11, E11, E00, R20, B000, R85, R83, R81, B37, B34, B32, RV000, C9, C7, C5, C3.
Paper - Bobunny Alissa, Imaginescence Enchanted Garden, Papermania Little Cupcake Shop.
Lace is from my Mum sewing supplies (Thanks Mum).
Pink Tulip Seam Binding from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Thanks so much for looking.

I really adore the images from Tiddlyinks.  I like that I can resize them to suit the project I'm completing and that I can just print it.  Sometimes when I stamp I am not so successful at getting it right you have those little blank bits in your image and that annoys me :). Onto my card for today (please note I took this photo before the glue had dried on the twine so there isn't a big white dob of glue behind the twine anymore).
I used:
Digital image- Carpenter Joe from Tiddlyinks
Copics on xpress it blending card all from Mad for Markers -
E50, E53, E11, E00, E27, E25, E35, YR18, Yr15, YR12, B37, B34, B32, Y15, C3, C2, C1, R29.
Paper - Kaisercraft kbots Xtron and Surge.
Brown grosgrain ribbon and twine coloured with YR18.

I am entering this card in the The Sweet Stop sketch challenge.

Right I'm off to fold some washing and bring some wood in for the fire.

Happy 2nd Birthday Nell

On August 1st our little Nell turned 2.  She is such a gorgeous little thing but also such an adventurer she is often into mischief.  While people always hear these mischievous stories they don't often hear the flip side.  She is such a little girly girl and loves a huggle.  She is clever, kind and caring and has the funniest sense of humour. Nell loves rabbits (our rabbits are not so fond of her).  I used LOTV Gift Wrapped for her card and the card as basis for her little birthday morning tea.
I used:
Stamp - Gift Wrapped LOTV.  Stamped on xpress it blend it card and coloured with copics (both from M4M)- G20, G24, C5, C3, C2, C1, R85, R83, R81.
Paper - Imaginesence Enchanted
Card from Regal Craft
Pink Tulip Seam Binding and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts
Kindy Glitz
Here is a little photo of the cupcakes I made for Nell's birthday.  Mum always and still makes homemade cakes for our birthday and I am loving continuing this tradition with my girls.

Just a Girl for the Sugar Bowl.

Today was quite a warm winter day for down here.  Although the weather girl said the top was 14 degrees I'm sure it was hotter than that.  I was outside without a jumper.  Although that may have had more to do with chasing our pet rabbits round the yard so they would return to their cage.  Here I was thinking catching a horse was difficult.

I have completed this card for the sketch challenge over at the Sugar Bowl.  I just love Sugar Nellie Stamps.  I love others too of course. This card is out of my comfort zone and not what I would normally create so I'm not sure if I like it or not.  I don't normally use yellow and I love symmetry.

For this card I used:
Stamp - Just a Girl Sugar Nellie from Funky Kits coloured with copics
on Xpress it Blending Card both from Mad for Markers
Hair- C9, C7, C5, C3.
Skin - E11, E00, R20
Clothing - C9, C7, C5, Y15, Y13, Y11.
Paper - Seaside Sandcastle from October Afternoon and Shabby Chic collection Morning Poetry.
Card from Regal Craft

Well thanks for looking I am going to sit back with my cup of tea and Anvers Fudge and stroll around blogland for a while and no doubt etsy I just love looking at all the creations.

Roll on Summer

Here in Tasmania the weather has been freezing whilst I love sitting by a roaring fire in winter and admire how pretty the fog and crisp cool mornings can be  I do love summer.  I made this card for the Mad for Markers Challenge featuring Bron's sketch.

I have so much trouble colouring with red it just seems to bleed much more than any other colour.  This was an image I coloured a while ago when I first started practising colouring hair. So I didn't record the copics I used at the time but my collection of copics isn't that big YET! So from Memory I used
Digi Image - CC Designs Swiss Pixie Hawaiian Birgitta from All That Scraps
Copics from Mad for Markers Clothing - R24, R27, R29, C1, C2, C9.
                                                 Skin - E00, E11, R20.
                                                 Hair - E50, E53.
Hibiscus Paper- Kaisercraft Seaside Collection from Anna's Craft Cupboard
Ribbon and Red Paper were from my stash.
Hibiscus stamp and white ink were a gift from my Mum.
Blank Card from Regal Craft

I am not overly happy with this card just seems like there is something missing but I'm not sure what.  Thanks for looking.
